How to compare FileMaker Pro
ScriptMaker scripts
The are 3 categories of scripts which can be stored within
FmPro Script Diff, and these are (1) Database1, (2) Database2 and (3)
Script Repository. Comparisons of scripts are done between the scripts
located in the Database1 and Database2 groups.
To compare one or more scripts between two versions of a database file,
paste the scripts for the first version of the database into the Database1
folder tab, paste the scripts from the second version of the database
into the Database2 folder tab. From either the Database1 or Database2
folder tabs, click the (4) Compare Script(s) button. The scripts will
be compared and the results will be displayed in the Diff tab.
Diff Results
The Diff results field lists the comparison results for
each of the compared scripts.
(x) - The script is present in Database1
but missing in Database2
(+) - The script is missing in Database1
but is present in Database2
(=) - The scripts are identical in both
databases.
(~) - A script with the same name exists
within both databases, but the script has been changed. Changed lines
are listed on a line-by-line basis as being either identical, Added,
Deleted or Changed. Differing script text within each changed line is
highlited within the line of text.
Clicking on a script listed in the Diff tab which contains
changes, displays the script and scrolls the display to the first changed
line. Pressing the TAB key advances to the next changed line(1).
